Can't Login to Blogger in Draft

So you're suddenly stuck at the login prompt for Blogger in Draft, unable to access your blog, wishing you could get back to the traditional Blogger interface.  What's going on?  Google's got a new interface for Blogger, called Blogger in Draft, which incorporates some neat new features.  However, it's not 100% bug free yet.  The trouble is, once you try it, you may get stuck, unable to log in to turn it off.  The trouble is apparently a bug that appears when you try to log in to Blogger in Draft using the Internet Explorer web browser.  Here's how you get around it.

You need to use another web browser, such as Google Chrome, that doesn't display this bug, to log in to Blogger in Draft.  You can then either use Chrome to access Blogger in Draft, or turn off Blogger in Draft so that Internet Explorer will be able to log in again.  So let's install Chrome first.

To install Chrome, go to http://www.google.com/chrome and click on the big blue button. On the next page, deselect "set Google Chrome as my default browser" if you intend to continue to use Internet Explorer as your browser, then click the "Accept and Install" button.

Once Chrome is installed, launch Chrome, and go to to your Blogger dashboard (type www.blogger.com into the address bar and hit Enter).  Your login should now be successful!

At the top of your dashboard you will see a checkbox for using Blogger in Draft as your default interface.  If you want to continue to use Chrome, you can leave this checked (Internet Explorer will not be able to log in until Google fixes the bug).  Otherwise, deselect the checkbox, and close Chrome.

Now you can launch Internet Explorer and log in to Blogger.  You will find yourself back in the traditional interface.  Happy blogging!

I've heard that if you uncheck the "stay Signed In" checkbox, login will work. If not, try any other browser such as Firefox.

Nichols - did you change the password on your gmail account associated with your blog recently? I did that a couple weeks ago. Once I realized the dates seemed to coincide, I change my password back just to see.... And the problem was totally solved.

Yeah, it appears that several things can cause this problem and several things can fix it. The fix I describe in this article is how I fixed my Wife's trouble...
